Slidell police responded to a disturbance on Sunday night around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Joy Drive and Lori Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a 23-year-old victim with several stab wounds. They also noted a large amount of blood in the street.

The suspect, Anthony Davis, 29, had left the scene before police arrived.

According to witnesses, the dispute started because Davis allegedly broke into the victim’s car the night before.

When the victim confronted Davis about the burglary, things got heated, and Davis pulled out a knife.

Davis reportedly stabbed the victim several times, causing near fatal wounds.

Slidell’s K-9 unit tracked down Davis, and he surrendered without incident.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Davis was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder. He is currently being held at the Slidell City Jail, but will eventually be transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
