BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Baton Rouge Police Department DWI Task Force and the East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Office conducted a joint sobriety checkpoint last night in the 900 block of Stanford Ave.

A total of 545 vehicles were screened. There were 16 drivers arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers also issued 13 traffic citations.

Officials say another checkpoint has been scheduled for Saturday, December 15. The location has not been disclosed.

However, we’re told BRPD is stepping up the number of checkpoints they will be conducting through the holiday season.
