Six arrested in Ascension Parish drug sting

Multiple arrests have been made following a month-long investigation into illegal drug activity at a Prairieville home.

In August 2013, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division began an investigation into several complaints of drug activity at a home in the 15000 block of Liz Road in Prairieville.

Narcotics detectives learned that Melana Vu, Kendall Eppes, Charles “Ricky” Webb, Crystal Berthelot, and Patrick Morrison all live at the address.

On September 3, Narcotics detectives made a traffic stop on a vehicle Vu was driving. Narcotics detectives searched the vehicle and located a quantity of Heroin and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Vu and Morrison were placed under arrest. Narcotics detectives then obtained a search warrant for the residence on Liz Road.

During the execution of the search warrant, narcotics detectives encountered Charles “ Ricky” Webb, Kendall Eppes, and two small children inside of the residence. During the search, narcotics detectives seized Heroin, Marijuana, Xanax, Vyvance, Adderall, Clonidine, Psilocybin Mushrooms, and a 12-gauge shotgun.

While searching the residence, Lawrence Richards pulled into the driveway and was placed under arrest on an active narcotics warrant for Possession of Hydrocodone. Narcotics detectives learned Crystal Berthelot was working at an unnamed local restaurant in Gonzales. Detectives went to the business and placed her under arrest. The two small children were released to a family member and the Office of Child Services will be contacted of the parents’ narcotics arrest. 

Patrick Morrison, 24, of Prairieville was arrested and charged with Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, two counts of Failure to Appear in Court, and Possession of CDS in Presence of a Person Under 17.

Malana Vu, 21, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I (Psilocbin), Possession of Heroin, Possession of Vyvanse, Possession of Xnax, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of CDS Presence of Person Under 17, and Possession of Clindamycin.

Lawrence Richards, 39, of  Prairieville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II CDS (hydrocodone).

Charles Webb, 20, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I (Psilocbin), Possession of Heroin, Possession of Vyvanse, Possession of Xanax, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Legend Drug, and Possession of CDS Presence of Person Under 17.

Kendall Epps, 18, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Adderall, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of CDS in Presence of Person Under 17, Contempt of Court, and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon.

Crystal Berthelot, 22, of Prairieville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Adderall, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, , Possession of CDS in Presence of Person Under 17, and Contempt of Court.

All were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
