A Shreveport woman is behind bars after she allegedly stabbed a man several times during a domestic dispute. Police say the two live in the same home, but are unsure of their exact relationship.

Officers with the Shreveport Police Department were called to the scene shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27. When they arrived to the home located in the 400 block of Abilene Street, they found the victim, Bernard Wright, 51, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.

Tamika Washington, 42, told investigators that Wright physically attacked her, so she stabbed him in self-defense. However, they say she had no visible signs of injury.

Wright was transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in fair condition.

Washington was arrested and charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
