Shreveport teen shot while sleeping inside home

SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport police are investigating a shooting in the Queensborough neighborhood that hospitalized a local teen.
At around 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the 3500 block of Lakeland Street. When police arrived at the location, they discovered a sleeping 17-year-old boy had been hit by a bullet inside the house. He was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Witness tell investigators they heard a single gunshot from outside, followed by the victim shouting out he had been hit.
The motive behind the gunfire has not yet been determined, but detective believe the incident may have stemmed from an argument with another teen earlier in the day.
