SHREVEPORT, LA — A pair of would-be robbers were fought off by the store clerk at a Shreveport business over the weekend.
At around 10:30 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the Daiquiri Express in the 6700 block of Pines Road to an attempted armed robbery. When they arrived, patrolmen learned two armed men had entered the business, jumped the counter and demanded money from the employees.
The robbers began fighting with an employee, and during the struggle, hit the worker in the head with one of their weapons. One of the robbers lost control of his weapon and both of the men fled the scene.
The employee suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Shreveport Fire Department.
Police recovered the weapon left behind by one of the suspects, which turned out to be a BB gun. Detectives describe both men as black males, one about six feet tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds wearing a black shirt, red shorts and white sneakers. His face was covered with black panty hose and he was wearing gloves as well.
The second robber was about five feet nine inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds and was last seen wearing all black clothing with a black ski mask covering his face.
Investigators are working to obtain surveillance images from the business and are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to call Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
