A man wanted by Nacogdoches Police for failure to register as a sex offender for over four years has been apprehended by the US Marshal Service in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Charles Ray Rusk, age 55, was arrested yesterday in Shreveport. Rusk was also wanted by Nacogdoches Police for an aggravated robbery that occurred in Nacogdoches in January 2006. This incident occurred in the parking lot of Burger King at 2921 North Street, where a then 80 year old female victim was drug to the ground during a purse snatching.

Rusk was convicted in 1978 of sexual assault of an 8 year old female child.

NPD Detectives developed information that Rusk was living in the Shreveport area, and relayed this information to the federal authorities.

Rusk is currently being held in the Caddo Parish jail awaiting extradition.
