A Shreveport Police officer has been arrested and now faces a felony charge in connection with an investigation conducted by the Bossier Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Based on information gathered by authorities during their inquiry, Patrick Williams 23, of the 6600 block of Clift Avenue in Shreveport, was subsequently arrested by Shreveport Police as a fugitive, on an outstanding warrant procured by Bossier Parish District Attorney investigators and charged with one count of issuing worthless checks.

Williams, who joined the department in July 2012, was immediately placed on paid administrative leave by Chief of Police Willie Shaw as required by the rules and regulations of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board which states: “When an employee is charged with a felony he shall, and if a misdemeanor he may, be immediately relieved of duty and placed on “departmental leave” for up to one week at full pay and with continuing seniority".

Williams was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
