An ongoing investigation led to the arrest of a Shreveport man accused of firing multiple shots at two men near south east Shreveport on last week.

On May 28, Shreveport Police officers responded to a shots fired incident reported near the intersection of Youree Drive at East Dalzell Street.

Upon officers arrival at the location, contact was made with two men who advised authorities that a man driving a dark colored sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Caprice, exited the vehicle with a rifle and opened fire on them while engaged in a verbal dispute.

The suspect fled the scene driving the sedan, which police located abandoned a short distance away.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene launching investigations into the matter which ultimately led to the procurement of a warrant for the arrest of  Cornell Prior, 19.

Agents with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force were successful in taking Prior into custody near the 700 block of Clyde Fant Parkway.

Prior was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the warrant charging him with Illegal Use of a Weapon.
