BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A mother of three is in critical condition after she was shot early Sunday morning.
Family members told NBC33 that Tamara Reed, 30, was shot at least three times in the chest and pelvis by her boyfriend Roderick Wells. They say the shooting happened while two of the kids were in the home.
The shooting happened at her house on the 5300 block of Annette Street around 3:00 a.m. That's in the 70805 zip code. Friends say they can't believe this happened to such a kind and generous person.
"She's a really nice person. She'll help anybody. She'll give you the clothes off of her back. She'll watch your kids. She'll take you where you need to go. She's a loving person and I can't believe something like this could have happened to her," says family friend Katrena Duke.
Family members told NBC33 Reed is recovering from her injuries at Earl K. Long Medical Center.
