Sheriff: Trustee who walked off apprehended on Ceadercrest

UPDATE: The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office along with the U S Marshal's Task Force apprehended the parish prison trustee today on Ceadercrest.

Raymond Ballard, 45, was seen leaving the Coursey McDonald's on bike at approximately 4:00 p.m. An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip led detectives to Ballard.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: A trustee walked away from the Sheriff’s substation in Central and a manhunt is currently underway to track him down.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says Raymond Ballard, 45, had been a trustee at the location for roughly two weeks. He was originally booked into Parish Prison for Possession of cocaine.

Ballard was being held at the prison on a $5,000 bond. Today, he simply walked away from the substation.

Ballard’s last known address is located on Oakenwood Street in Denham Springs.
