Sheriff: Stabbing suspect was drinking beer on back of pickup truck after crime
HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — A man allegedly stabbed a man several times during an argument and then started drinking beer on the back of his pickup truck until deputies arrived
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred in the early morning on Monday, Jan. 28. We’re told the suspect, Perry Wayne Winder, 49, of Springfield, was involved in a physical altercation with the victim at his home in Hammond. He allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 51-year-old man several times, then fled the scene.
Deputies responded to the scene where several witnesses were found caring for the victim until emergency responders arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Winder was still at the scene of the crime drinking beer. He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Second-Degree Battery.
