Sheriff seeking couple accused of attempted kidnapping of teen girl

BAYOU L’OURSE, LA (NBC33) — A woman says someone tried to abduct her 14-year-old niece while she was walking to a convenience store. The Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the suspect.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating on Tuesday, March 13. The woman says her niece was walking from Bayou L’Ourse convenience store located at the corner of highway 398 and Highway 663. She claims that a Hispanic couple attempted to get her into their vehicle.
When the attempt was unsuccessful, the couple continued to follow her and later turned off Highway 398 onto Murial Street where the 14 year old lives. She ignored them and eventually took off running and made it home safely.
The vehicle then left in an unknown direction.
She described the vehicle as a white mustang with a black bug guard on the vehicle. She said the Hispanic couple appears to be their 20’s.
Detectives are currently treating this case as an attempted kidnapping at this time.
