ST. AMANT, LA (NBC33) — Deputies in Ascension Parish need your help tonight solving a home invasion that happened in St. Amant last Friday night.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened around 11:00 p.m. Authorities responded to a home on Church Point Road near Highway 431 after receiving a call that an elderly couple had been robbed.

The woman said a man came to the door asking to use the phone. When she let him in, we're told the suspect pulled a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'9" to 5'11", wearing a gray LSU shirt and dark colored baseball cap (possibly LSU cap). The description also gives the suspect a small pot belly. We're told he fled the scene in a gray car.
