Several arrested for smuggling drugs into St. Mary Parish Prison

MORGAN CITY, LA (NBC33) — A narcotics investigation at the St. Mary Parish jail resulted in the arrest of several people, including one teen.
A package was intercepted by the Narcotics Task Force at the parish jail. It contained loritab pills, Tramadol pills, Methamphetamine, tobacco, a cell phone and rolling papers. Investigators identified Heidi Songe and Karen Tibodeaux as the suspects responsible for sending the package.
A search warrant was issued for the suspect’s home on Third Street in Morgan City. During the search they found marijuana, packaging material and a loritab pill.
The home is located 2000 feet from Shannon Elementary School, which added the charge of Possession of CDS in Drug Free Zone (school).
Heidi Songe, 35, of Morgan City was arrested for Entering Contraband into a Penal Facility, Distribution of Loritabs, Distribution of Methamphetamines, Distribution of Tramadol, Possession of a Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of Drug Free Zone (School).
Karen Thibodeaux, 44, of Morgan City was arrested for Entering Contraband into a Penal Facility, Distribution of Loritabs, Distribution of Methamphetamines and Distribution of Tramadol.
Morgan Currington, 19, of Amelia was arrested for Possession of Loritabs, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile and Violation of CDS Law Drug Free Zone( School).
Cody Thibodeaux, 21, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. was arrested for Failure to Appear on the charge of Simple Battery.
Juvenile Male, 16, of Morgan City was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS in Drug Free Zone (school) and Obstruction of Justice.
