School Board president arrested for fatal hit-and-run crash in St. Helena

ST. HELENA PARISH, LA (NBC33) — A member of the Livingston Parish School board was arrested today in connection to the hit-and-run crash that killed a 21-year-old man from Mississippi.
The Louisiana State Police reports that Malcolm Sibley was arrested on Sunday, June 16 shortly before 10:00 a.m. Sibley accused of hitting William Iasigi with his vehicle in St. Helena Parish.
Investigators say Iasigi stopped his vehicle while driving on LA 43. He got out of his vehicle for unknown reasons, and was struck by a truck..
Iasigi’s passenger, and a pedestrian who was walking the area, drove the injured man to the hospital. He passed away shortly after arriving.
Officials say several members of the community came forward with information that lead them to Sibley in Walker.
Sibley was arrested and charged with felony Hit-and-Run. He was booked into the St. Helena Parish Jail.
Officials say the crash is still under investigation.
Sibley currently serves as the Livingston Parish School Board president.
