Robbery victim dies after being shot while standing in his front yard

A 24 year old man died last night after he was shot while standing outside of his apartment complex on Wyoming Street. Police believe robbery was the motive for the shooting.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred at roughly 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6. The victim, Travis Holland, was shot once while standing in the front yard of the Pueblo Apartments. We're told robbery is believed to be the motive. Holland managed to get inside of his apartment, where he was found on the floor when EMS arrived.

Holland was transported to a local hospital, but later died as a result of his injuries.

We’re told one suspect was apprehended in the area, but he was questioned and is no longer considered a suspect.

Police believe two black males in their late teens are responsible.
