BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A registered nurse and former Louisiana State Nursing Board officer was arrested for attempting to rob a Winn Dixie pharmacy for prescription pills.
According to court documents Richard Carroll, 44, allegedly walked into the pharmacy on Greenwell Springs Road wearing a blue surgical mask. He allegedly handed the pharmacist a note stating “this is a robbery” and then asked for several prescription pills.
Two male employees were able to detain Carroll, but they let him go after being threatened with a lawsuit.
Carroll was also arrested in September by Denham Springs Police for a similar robbery.
The State's Nursing Board Executive Director says Carroll “did resign his position back in June.”
Carroll was charged with Simple Robbery and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
