Red light shooter kills 21-year-old passenger of vehicle
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 21-year old man was shot and killed while sitting at a traffic light on North Acadian in Baton Rouge yesterday in the late afternoon.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Kevin Johnson, 21, of Denham Springs was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle. While the car was stopped at a red light at the intersection of North Acadian and South Choctaw, a suspect approached the vehicle on foot and began shooting.
Johnson was shot multiple times. He was transported to the Baton Rouge General Hospital, but he died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
The suspect is described as a light complexioned black male, with dread or plaits in his hair.
Officials say they do not have a motive for this shooting.
