This is an NBC33 News update: New details have surfaced surrounding escaped inmate David St. Germaine.

Sheriff J. Austin Daniel of the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office says Germaine broke into a building just south of the parish and stole food and liquor in the hours after his escape. He then left the parish and headed for Zachary where he stole a truck and some credit cards.

From there, Germaine headed to Slidell to find a woman he calls his “substitute mom.” When he approached her, she told him to leave and called the police. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has been tracking him all day and are confident they will have him in cuffs by the end of the night.
