Prairieville man arrested for shooting man in the back

ASCENSION PARISH, LA — Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeffrey Wiley reports the arrest a Prairieville man following a shooting investigation.
During the evening hours of March 1, 2012 the Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that a man had just walked into Clark Station Convenient Store located at Babin Road and U. S. 61 suffering from a gunshot wound.
The gunshot victim, identified as Patrick Anderson, 19, of Gonzales, Louisiana was transported to a local hospital and treated for a non fatal gunshot wound to his back.
The investigation revealed that earlier in the night Anderson was driving in the area of Lee Stephens Road and Tiger Height’s with a passenger, later identified as Rolondo Stewart, 22.
It was determined the shooting occurred in the same area. Following the shooting the victim, Patrick Anderson, drove himself down U. S. 61 to the parking lot of Clark Station Convenient Store where he alerted someone he was shot. The store is located approximately 6 miles from where the shooting actually occurred.
Anderson identified Stewart as the shooter but gave no motive.
On March 1, 2012 Rolondo Stewart was taken into custody at his home on Roy Rogers Road Prairieville, Louisiana. He was arrested and charged with attempted 2nd murder and illegal use of a weapon.
Stewart was additionally charged with introducing contraband into a penal facility after marijuana was found on his person during a search at the jail. He is currently incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail on a $105,000 bond set by Judge Ralph Tureau.
