Police seeking suspect in case of attempted murder

Lafayette Police are seeking information as to the whereabouts of Damien Richard, 32, of Lafayette. He is wanted for two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Reports indicate that on March 31, 2012, Richard used a handgun to shoot at two victims during a disturbance in the 100 block of Cantal Drive. One of the victims was struck in the chest area and treated at an area hospital.

The second victim was not injured.

Cory Richard was arrested in connection to the case on April 5, 2012, and charged with Accessory After the Fact to Attempted First-Degree Murder.

Cory Richard is alleged to have driven the car from the scene with Damien Richard.
