Police searching for man wanted on attempted murder charges

The Lafayette Police Department is looking for a man wanted on Attempted Second-Degree murder charges.

On June 18 during the afternoon hours, authorities responded to the 200 block of Hllen Street in regards to a disturbance involving gunfire. The victim reported to responding officers that he and the suspect had been involved in a verbal disagreement when the suspect produced a handgun and fired twice at the victim. The suspect then fled the area. The suspect was identified as Ronrika Ben. The victim, a 32 year old male of Lafayette, was not injured during the incident.

A warrant was obtained for Ronrika Ben, 28, of Lafayette, for Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.
