Police: Robber held woman at knifepoint, takes $4

Police are searching for a man who robbed a woman while she was returning to her car at a gas station.

On January 17, at approximately 10:12 p.m., the Broussard Police Department responded to the business of Shop Rite, located at 4108 US Hwy 90, in reference to an armed robbery.

Officers learned that the victim, a black female customer, exited the business to return to her vehicle which was parked at the gas pumps. As she arrived at her vehicle the suspect approached her, produced a knife and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect approximately $4 in cash and the suspect fled on foot behind the business. The victim described the suspect as a medium build white male approximately 5’5” wearing blue jeans, plaid shirt and a white or yellow hat.
