Police investigating 3 overnight armed robberies in New Iberia
NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — Detectives are investigating three separate armed robberies that happened overnight in New Iberia.
Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says two white men ordered a passenger out of their black Toyota Corolla at gunpoint, around 12:45 a.m. on August 5, 2014.
The passenger was robbed of his cash, cell phone, and clothing and left in the 2300 block of Railroad Road.
Around 3:40 a.m. two black men in dark clothing, broke into a woman’s home in the 800 block of Jefferson Street, and stole her cash.
Twenty minutes later, a black man robbed the Penny Wise Convenience Store at gunpoint, in the 1600 block of Jane Street.
A Penny Wise employee described the suspect as: a black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue boxer shorts, black socks with no shoes, and a white cloth over his face.
Fortunately no one was injured.
