Police in Hammond arrest suspect for multiple burglaries
HAMMOND, La (NBC33) — Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested 30-year-old Elbert J. Pierre III, in connection with multiple burglaries.
On April 23, Pierre was identified as a suspect in a residential burglary on Cannino Road.
Later that same day, officers responded to a home where the alarm was sounding.
According to police reports, an eyewitness saw a man matching Pierre’s description running from the house at the same time the alarm sounded.
Police found Pierre waling in the area and detained him for further investigation. Pierre eventually confessed to both of the April 23 burglaries.
Pierre was then charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft.
A few days later, on April 28, investigators interviewed Pierre again, and he confessed to an additional business burglary. He was also charged with one count of burglary for that crime.
