Police find the body of bayou jumper in Grosse Tete

Grosse Tete, La (NBC33) — THIS IS AN NBC NEWS UPDATE: The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office recovered the body of a man who jumped in Bayou Grosse Tete at around 10:30 a.m. this morning.
Deputies suspended the search for the man yesterday afternoon due to a lack of visibility and unsafe terrain.
A sheriff's office spokesman says they have not yet confirmed the identity of the man.
Police have called off the search for a suspect who jumped into Bayou Grosse Tete.
Just after midnight today, an Iberville Parish deputy pulled a car over on I-10 East for a simple traffic violation when the passenger in the car ran into the woods.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and found $2,500 worth of counterfeit money. They arrested the driver, 25 year-old Elesha Gunn of Houston, Texas.
At 2 p.m., investigators received a tip that a suspicious looking man with wet, muddy clothes was in Grosse Tete.
When deputies arrived to catch him, he then jumped into bayou Grosse Tete.
According to authorities, he quickly sank under the water and didn't pop back up. The search has been suspended due to lack of visibility and underwater terrain danger.
