BR Police: Driver of stolen car dies after crash

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: The unidentified female who was driving the fleeing vehicle and died on scene has been identified as Kiamonte Davis, 19, of Baton Rouge.
ORIGINAL: Baton Rouge Police have arrested Princess Wright, 20, on the charge of First Degree Robbery.
On Monday, Jan. 6, around 10:00 a.m., Wright and a second unidentified woman approached the victim at a Shell Station in the area of Government and Foster asking for a ride.
The victim, acting as a Good Samaritan, agreed to bring the two individuals to the area of Government and Community College Drive.
The two women later told the driver they had a gun and were taking her vehicle. Even though a gun was never observed, the victim feared for her life and jumped out of the vehicle.
The two suspects drove away at a high rate of speed.
The victim was able to flag down another vehicle and police. A nearby patrol unit was able to spot the fleeing vehicle from a distance but could never catch it.
The driver of the stolen car crashed into another car near the intersection of Drusilla Lane and Old Hammond Highway. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
Wright did not suffer any injuries from the crash. She was booked into the EBRP Prison.
The driver of the other car and her baby are expected to be ok.
Police are still investigating, and more charges are pending.
