Police discover large synthetic marijuana operation in Franklin, LA
Lafayette (NBC33) — On Monday March 24, 2014 the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force concluded an investigation into a local business, which had been reported as selling synthetic marijuana.
This investigation resulted in the search of the business of Olabisi Aromas, which is located at 3302 Johnston St. Suite F Lafayette, la.
Metro Agents recovered 1137.5 grams of synthetic cannabinoids from the business as well as $1,396.00 in cash.
This investigation also involved the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division who conducted a search of the suspect residence located in Franklin, LA.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics Agents located a large synthetic marijuana manufacturing operation in the suspects residence along with over $83,000 in cash.
As a result of the investigation Mark Ruffin Sr. who has been identified as the owner of the business has been arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and will also be charge by the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force.
Also arrested by Metro Agents was Karine Stielow, who was booked into the Lafayette Parish correctional Center on the charge of distribution of Schedule I narcotics.
