Scott was arrested late Wednesday night in the eastern New Orleans neighborhood of Little Woods. It was not immediately clear what led police to Scott late Wednesday, but the New Orleans Police Department, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and other city leaders planned a 12 p.m. CT news conference to discuss the details.
WDSU captured the arrest in its exclusive video.
Scott was wanted in connection with the shooting of 19 people on Mother's Day during a second line parade in the Seventh Ward. However, according to the arrest warrant obtained by WDSU, "20 individuals were injured by the gunfire."
Members of a U.S. Marshals task force working with NOPD special operations took Scott into custody, I-Team sources said. No significant resistance was reported.
He arrived at Orleans Parish Prison overnight.
According to Sheriff's Office records, he was booked on 20 counts of attempted second-degree murder. His bond was set at $500,000 for each count ($10 million total).
Surveillance cameras captured images of a young man stepping into the street and opening fire on the crowd, then running away. Police identified the shooter as Scott and obtained an arrest warrant.
Crime Stoppers and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms offered rewards totaling $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
