Police arrest student for battery to bus driver
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — A local 12th grader is now in parish prison after assaulting a bus driver.
Early Friday morning, Police responded to reports of battery on Burbank in which a high schooler assaulted her bus driver.
According to reports, Shanetra Daniels, 18, became upset with her bus driver and began arguing and cursing at her. The bus driver told the student she would be "written up" if she did not stop. The student than began yelling at the driver about wanting to fight. The student allegedly got out of her seat and walked to the front of the bus were she struck the bus driver from behind, knocking her glasses off. The bus driver then slammed on the brakes and the accused fell forward into the windshield. Daniels then got up and began repeatedly hitting the driver. Other students were able to pull her back until help arrived.
Both the accused and victim were treated for minor abrasions on the scene.
Shanetra Daniels was transported to parish prison and booked accordingly.
