GEISMAR, LA — Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an unidentified male who stole prescription medication (controlled dangerous substances) from a pharmaceutical trailer at a Walgreens Pharmacy in Geismar on December 6.
During the course of the investigation it was revealed that while the pharmaceutical driver was inside of Walgreens making a delivery an unidentified black male was seen backed up to the delivery trailer stealing prescription medication. A witness describes the suspect vehicle as a newer model tan or beige four-door GMC Sierra short bed truck. The truck has fender flares, factory rims, and tinted windows. The license plate number was not obtained, but the plate is a Louisiana 200th year anniversary plate with the pelican on the left side of the plate. Walgreens surveillance video captured the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene.
The driver was last seen leaving Walgreens Pharmacy in Geismar traveling at a high rate of speed down Highway 73 and then turning onto Cornerview Road heading towards Gonzales.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-INFO (4636) or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
