Pedestrian survives after being struck by vehicle, driver fled the scene

IBERIA PARISH, LA (NBC33) — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a car. Deputies are seeking information about the driver, who fled the scene without checking on the victim.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 19 shortly before 6:00 p.m. Witnesses say the victim, a 46-year-old man, was attempting to cross Curtis Lane. A silver SUV struck the man, stopped for a second, then took off.
Witnesses say the vehicle may have been a Nissan Pathfinder, and it was possibly being driven by an Asian female.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for injuries to his head and leg. At the time the injuries did not seem to be life threatening. However, he is currently undergoing further evaluation.
