PD: Woman arrested for cooking meth in Shreveport casino hotel
SHREVEPORT (KMSS) — A Bossier City woman was taken into custody Thursday after authorities discovered she was allegedly running a meth lab out of a casino hotel room.
According to Sheriff Steve Prator and Police Chief Willie Shaw, law enforcement was called to a hotel at 315 Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway, which is registered as Sam's Hotel & Casino, following a fire alarm activated on the 14th floor.
Officials said smoke from the suspects cooking meth set off alarms in their room. Agents found an old lab and two active labs inside the room, as well as the items needed to make meth hidden in an air conditioning vent.
Authorities arrested Dawn Meredith, 30, of Bossier City, and charged her with creation and operation of a clandestine lab and criminal property damage.
One person allegedly ran from the scene before agents arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
