Opelousas pair arrested on drug charges after hours of surveillance

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Cory Williams and Jasmine Rideau, both of Opelousas, on Wednesday for several drug charges.

After receiving a tip about possible drug activity, SLPSO Narcotic Enforcement Team conducted several hours of surveillance in the Royal Garden neighborhood in Opelousas.

According to a report, agents gathered evidence that lead to the arrest of Williams and Rideau. Detectives seized two ounces of marijuana, five grams of crystal meth, several bottles Adderall, hydrocodone, and Zanax pills. The estimated street value of the drugs was $3,000.

Cory Williams, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS, possession of hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia, and flight from an officer.

Jasmine Rideau, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS, possession of hydrocodone, possession of Zanax and possession of Adderall.
