OPD catches major drug dealer in undercover operation

Opelousas, La (NBC33) — Police arrested one of Opelousas’s major drug dealers, Joshua “Wop” Johnson, 28; along with Damiel Pierre, 31; and Blonda Hunt, 43.
The Opelousas Police Department’s Special Operations Unit, Louisiana State Police, and Patterson Police Department had been working a 6-month narcotics investigation involving Johnson.
On Thursday, Johnson sold 2.5 ounces of crack cocaine with a street value of $3,500, to an undercover cop.
Immediately after the sale, officers from three different departments moved in to arrest Johnson. The suspect attempted to flee, but was quickly taken into custody.
Over the course of the investigation, police seized approx. $15,000 of crack cocaine.
After searching to residences, a 40-caliber handgun was found, but no other drugs were located.
Johnson is charged with four counts of Distribution of and Conspiracy to Distribute Schedule II narcotics.
Pierre and Hunt were charged with Distribution of Schedule II.
All were booked into the St Landry Parish Jail.
