UPDATE: On September 30, 2012, Dylan Woods was arrested in Lafayette at his residence without incident by Lafayette Police. Detectives are continuing to collect information about the second suspect believed to be involved in the incident. The case remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL: On Saturday, Sept. 29, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the intersection of Odile Street and West Alexander Street regarding gun shots in the area. It was discovered that the male victim was standing near the intersection when a group of suspects began running in his direction. Several shots were fired in the direction of the victim prior to the suspects fleeing the area. The victim was not injured during the incident. The cause of the disturbance remains under investigation.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder for the arrest of Dylan Woods, 20, of Lafayette.

Detectives are attempting to identify other suspects believed to be involved in the incident. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Dylan Woods or the identity of other persons involved in the incident are encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
