PRAIRIEVILLE, LA — Ascension Parish officials are seeking information from the public concerning damage that was done to two electronic message board signs at the Frog Bayou Lock construction site on Alligator Bayou Road off of Bluff Road.
Department of Public Works Director Ronnie Fairchild said sometime during the evening of Friday, July 27 or early Saturday morning, July 28, a suspect or suspects shot at and damaged the electronic signs, each worth $16,138.
“We’re asking the public to come forward with any information in case they may have heard gun shots or seen someone at the scene, or leaving the scene,” Fairchild said. “Those signs were practically brand new and have only been used three times.”
Fairchild is asking the public to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-8300, or call his office at the Department of Public Works at (225) 621-1129.
The electronic message board signs were placed at the Alligator Bayou Road location to alert residents that Alligator Bayou Road was closed while parish drainage crews were repairing the Frog Bayou Lock.
