Officials arrest Cut Off man after seizing narcotics at his home

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's office has arrested a Cut Off man after agents discovered an array of narcotics and other illegal items at his home.

On Thursday, March 28, narcotics agents arrested Daxton Ingram, 39, on a multitude of charges following an investigation which began in January 2013.

Through the course of the investigation, Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force Agents had obtained the following warrants for Ingram’s arrest: three counts of Distribution of Marijuana; two counts of Distribution of Hydrocodone; and one count of Distribution of Alprazolam.

They also obtained a search warrant for his Cut Off residence. On Thursday, agents were conducting surveillance outside Ingram’s home when they saw him pull into the driveway. Agents immediately closed in on Ingram’s location and placed him under arrest without incident. 

Following Ingram’s arrest, agents executed the search warrant on the home and located the following items: approximately 90 grams of suspected high grade marijuana; approximately 4.6 grams of mushrooms (psilocybin), approximately 64.5 doses of alprazolam, 88 doses of Hydrocodone, 13 doses of diazepam, 3 doses of Adderall, 1 oxycodone pill, 1 clonazepam pill, 3 vials of steroids, a .22 caliber rifle, a bulletproof vest, and various drug paraphernalia.

Ingram was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked according to the aforementioned arrest warrants.

He was additionally charged with the following: Possession With Intent to Distribute Adderall, Psilocybin, Marijuana,
Diazepam, Hydrocodone, and Alprazolam; three counts of Possession of Steroids; Possession of Clonazepam, Oxycodone, and Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Possession of a CDS and Unlawful Use of Body Armor. He is being held in lieu of $661,000 bond as set by the warrants and by Judge John Leblanc.

Prior to his arrest on Thursday, Ingram had been arrested 18 times in the parishes of Lafourche, Terrebonne, Jefferson and Orleans. His criminal history dates back to 1995.
