VIOLET, LA (WDSU-CNN) — A 39-year-old man man with drug-related arrests and several convictions was arrested again on drug charges in Violet, LA.
Jerrell Maxon has served in prison before and has arrests related to drug offenses dating back to 1995.
He was arrested again on drug charges on July 9, when investigators found what they called “a large amount of narcotics” at a home in the 2800 block of Stacie Drive in Violet.
Maxon was at the home of Jaleshia Garner, 22, with 38 grams of crack cocaine, 3.2 grams of powder cocaine, 39 grams of marijuana, 18 muscle relaxers and three pain pills.
Investigators were executing a search warrant at the home when the discovery was made.
The Sheriff’s Office said recent investigations concluded Maxon was a major cocaine distributor in the New Orleans metro area and conducted most of his business in St. Bernard Parish.
Maxon and Garner were arrested at the home on charges of Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack, Cocaine and Marijuana, and with Possession of a CDS in the Presence of Juveniles and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Investigators said Maxon is the “most notorious drug dealer” in St. Bernard Parish.
Authorities said Maxon could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
