North Baton Rouge man shot in apartment parking lot

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) -- A shooting occurred in broad daylight at the Palms apartments on Feb. 16.

Baton Rouge police were called to the 5600 block of Mcclelland St. in North Baton Rouge around 4:45 in the afternoon. When they arrived they found a 19 year-old had been shot in the back.

Police have not identified the victim, but they say his injuries aren't life threatening.

One neighbor says she knew the young man. She also has advice for all the kids in her neighborhood.

"I don't really know what happened but I hope he'll be ok,” said Angel Eptin, a resident at the Palms apartment complex. “Like i said, all the children, go to school, cause you never know, you can prevent something like this from happening.”
