NOPD looking for man who may have information about fatal hit-and-run
NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — New Orleans Police are asking for your help in locating Kenneth Halley, 28, who may have information pertaining to the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed Officer Rodney Thomas.
Police say they have already identified one person of interest in the case. That individual is reportedly being questioned by investigators. They have not said what information they believe Halley can provide.
The crash happened at roughly 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 7. Officer Thomas was off-duty when he was involved in a minor traffic crash on I-10 near the high rise. When he got out of his car to check on the other driver, he was struck by a white Porsche.
The suspect car was located during the early afternoon on Monday, July 8 at an automotive body shop located roughly one block from NOPD headquarters. They say the car has damage consistent with the fatal crash.
