A New York man was arrested for his third DWI after he allegedly caused a crash on Labor Day. When asked how much he had to drink, he told the trooper he consumed 4 beers and 6 shots of Jack Daniels.

According to the arrest report filed by the Louisiana State Police, the crash happened at roughly 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2 around the intersection of Perkins Road and Siegen Lane.

The driver who caused the crash, Bogdan Andrei Teodoru, 27, allegedly attempted to pass a vehicle. However, the driver of the vehicle was making a left turn into a private driveway at the same time Teodoru attempted to pass.

The trooper noted that Teodoru smelled of alcohol, had poor balance and slurred speech. He then asked Teodoru how much he had to drink.

After failing a field sobriety test, Teodoru was arrested and transported to Troop A headquarters. A chemical test was conducted and it showed his blood alcohol level to be .279 percent.

Teodoru has two prior DWI arrests filed by the Suffolk County Police Department in 2007 and the New York Police Department in 2008.

Teodoru is charged with DWI (3rd offense), Carless Operation, and Driving Under Suspension. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
