New Orleans man shot twice while walking near Fair Grounds

A man was shot twice by an unknown gunman while he was walking near the Fair Grounds.

The New Orleans Police Department reports that the shooting happened in the 3000 block of Ponce De Leon Street at roughly 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The victim told police that the suspect walked up to him, pulled out a gun and shot him once in the leg and once in the chest. The suspect then rode off on a white bicycle.

The victim survived and is being treated at a local hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks. He was wearing a black shirt and black shorts.
