New Orleans man robbed at gunpoint while hanging Christmas lights

A New Orleans man was allegedly robbed by three men on Sunday while he was hanging Christmas lights on his home.

The New Orleans Police Department reports that the incident occurred at roughly 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. We’re told the victim was hanging decorations at his home located on the 5400 block of Pratt Drive. The victim told officers that three men armed with guns approached him and demanded that he go inside the home.

Officials say once the victim was in his home, the suspects bound his wrists and began taking items from the home. The crooks got away with cash, a cell phone, two laptops, jewelry, luggage and a wallet.

Two of the men were described by police as being 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. They were wearing a black hooded sweatshirts, and black bandannas and armed with handguns. The third man was described as being about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black bandanna and armed with a handgun.
