New Orleans cab driver killed in morning robbery

A 44-year-old male cab driver was shot and killed during a robbery this morning in the New Orleans East Pines Village Neighborhood.

Police received a call of unknown trouble in the rear parking area of an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Downman Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. Officers found the 44-year-old cab driver dead inside of his cab with a gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives believe the motive was robbery.

The Lead Homicide Detective in this case is Michael McCleery.
