On July 10, 2012 Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigation’s Directed Patrol Division arrested Ben Kelone, 20, for four counts of felony theft.

Detectives learned that Kelone burglarized the business of Louisiana Blasting at the Port of Iberia on July 9, 2012. Detectives believe Kelone stole oil field equipment from the business valued at over $20,000.00 and then sold the items at local scrap yards.

Detectives learned during the course of their investigation that Kelone was accompanied by a 13 year old juvenile as he burglarized the business. Detectives then charged Kelone with delinquency of a juvenile.

Sheriff Ackal states “I have, and will continue to use every resource the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office has available to protect this Parish’s businesses and citizens”.
