New Iberia man arrested on murder charges
IBERIA PARISH, LA — An iberia Parish man is behind bars after allegedly shooting a woman.
On April 23, 2013 at approximately 2:47 a.m., Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Corrine Street and Field Street, New Iberia, in reference to a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman who had been shot twice and was lying on the ground near the intersection of the two streets. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries.
Roman Ford, 53, was arrested for the with for the murder of the female victim. Detectives believe Ford was involved in an altercation with the victim prior to the shooting.
Ford was charged with Second-Degree Murder and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
