NEW IBERIA, LA — Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that on June 5, 2012 deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigations Directed Patrol Division arrested Tracy Bergeron DOB of New Iberia for one count of theft over $1,500.00 and one count of theft under $500.00.

Deputies learned that Bergeron was selling scrap metal at a business located at 2411 Hulin Road, New Ibera.

The victims informed deputies that Bergeron was altering the amount of metal on his receipt in an attempt to receive more money for the metal he was selling. During the course of the investigation, deputies had learned that Bergeron had succeeded in altering his receipt prior to this investigation.

Bergeron was arrested and then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
