NEW IBERIA, La (NBC33) - The New Iberia Sherriff’s Office have arrested two individuals in conjunction with an attempted murder.

On Feb. 17, police received a report of gunshots at the 500 block of Bank Street in New Iberia. They arrived to find a man with a bullet wound to his chest, which is believed be related to a home invasion.

Both Michael Maxie, 20, and Sajavouis Robertson have been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder.

Investigators expect more arrests associated with the crime.
